The food: We ate at each of the restaurants at the property. So what follows is not meant to negative in so much as it is informative. This is a resort for couples that want to relax and be spoiled. The service was amazing every whim is attended to by staff that (while human) are exceptionally eager to please. Overall: The property is immaculately kept, beautiful, lavish, luxurious, and comfortable. And it’s probably ruined every other all-inclusive for me. This resort is not a happening party spot it’s a fancy couples retreat. We stayed at Secrets PLC from December 7 – 13 (six nights). My wife and I are 31 and from the greater Sacramento Area in California. One last thing - the beds were VERY comfortable and the bathrooms/showers are what I wish I had in my home! one day. No texting while driving, and didn't take any crazy chances as some drivers do. They offered us beer or water when they picked us up, and they also offer a stop at Wal-Mart for no extra charge, which we didn't do. They were fairly priced for a private transfer, they were on time, and they even met my last minute request to depart for the airport a little earlier. They made me feel comfortable from the first correspondence. There is a place to swim down near the marina - about a 15 minute walk. Sandals won't work because the larger bits will get in your shoes and you'll end up taking them off because that hurts even worse. If you have tender feet, you'll want shoes of some sort to walk very far because it's pretty rough. :-) The beach is not suitable for swimming but I'm more of a pool person anyway. The return trip has a pretty steep hill so if you are not in great shape it will be a challenge, as it was for me. The bike ride over to the marina is worth your time. David is the best - that man knows how to make a great cup of coffee and he's so friendly. The coffee class at Coco's was informative and fun. Also, I didn't know until almost the last day but you can request premium alcohols like Grey Goose for no extra charge. Something about those pancakes was better than normal - must have been the mix. Nice breakfast variety - made to order pancakes and omelets. I could have eaten my weight in the sweet potato chips at the Seaside Grill. I didn't see it on the menu but they brought it was an appetizer without it being ordered. The fried calamari was the best I've ever had. Everything I put in my mouth was amazing. All the restaurants were good and the fajitas at El Patio were wonderful but Himitsu was my favorite. They have the best vanilla ice-cream (with sprinkles)! Most of the food was very delicious - just a few things I didn't much care for but plenty of other things to fill me up. Room Service was also good - we ordered dessert sent to our room every evening. Housekeeping almost always had our room cleaned in the short 30 minutes we were at breakfast. The 'towel boys' were always ready to help prepare my lounger, and servers passed at the main pool every 15 minutes or so, and they were pretty quick. The dinner servers were all over our needs, and the pool service was remarkable. The service all other times was incredible. Luckily a new one came on after a few hours and the service greatly improved. Also at the Barracuda Bar after the first pass the waitress never returned. I say for the most part because 3 out of 7 days room service didn't stock the mini bar, and twice at breakfast I requested water twice and never got it. This place was both beautiful and, for the most part, had excellent service. I'd rather sacrifice a little atmosphere for excellent service. I work in travel and honestly I'm a little spoiled when it comes to staying in nice resorts and even more spoiled with service.
